M.S.K. – Crucial Cats EP

The mysterious Tokyo warrior M.S.K. (pronounced `MASK`) returns to the worldwide musical spectrum with his debut Crucial Cats E.P for Different Recordings.

In his former years he recorded and released through fabled French electronic label Institubes and then went underground again releasing selected gems on obscure imprints available only in Japan.

Fast forward and M.S.K. bring us 3 impulsive and energetic tracks of cut and paste h.o.u.s.e.

Crucial Cats is built around a military snare drum, vocal snatch`s and disco riffs, before slamming back into the groove.

Fake sounds like something Masters at Work might be doing in 2012, filtered horns, scat drum patterns, disco / funk crescendos.

And to finish off the EP Quadrant Bravo has an early 90s Armand Van Helden feel with its horns, strings, stabs and almost hip hop style cut up house.

You can literally hear the list of contemporaries that have influenced M.S.K. dripping out of these tracks. Lets hope he doesn’t stay too mysterious for much longer.

M.S.K. – Crucial Cats EP is released through Different Recordings on 16/04/2012

The Hacker – Shockwave

The HackerShockwave pays
homage to the spirit of 90`s rave / nu beat / R&S and dutch techno and
brings it right up to date to 2012.

Shockwave has the demonic stabs
of T99 – Anasthasia and the energy of Human Resource – Dominator with the
familiar energy flash call to the masses of `ecstacy, ecstacy`.

The single contains a massive remix by man of the moment, Gesaffelstein
who could possibly be the modern day Joey Beltram. His remix is already a
favourite with 2 Many Djs and a clip of him playing it on board the Holy Ship
Rave Cruise has already reached over 22,000 views on YouTube.

Altern 8`s Mark Archer also provides an exclusive remix full of break
beats and hooks from back in the day. Vicks, white gloves and boiler suits are
optional.

Exclusive new track Bass 4 wraps things up with its deep dark brooding
electro techno.

Abstraxion – Moribayasa

Harold Boué aka Abstraxion is a french London based producer. His two previous singles on Different Recordings, Jus` Acid and Jaipurs Elephant were supported by Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan and Brodinski to name but a few.

Harold explains his idea behind this new track,`The word Moribayasa comes from Guinea, it’s a dance for a woman who has overcome a great adversity.
The idea was to create hypnotic and psychedelic music that makes the body dance. Something that is pulled from deep inside to create a chant, from darkness to light. A kind of a shamanic experience.`

The stellar remix package comes courtesy of Pokerflat`s Argy, DJ Kaos from DFA and Brioski from Nang Records.

Dj support comes from Laurent Garnier, Justin Robertson, Trevor Jackson, Ivan Smagghe, Mylo, Munk and Jacques Renault to name a few.
Press reviews in Mixmag, DJ Magazine and Discobelle.
